We believe that assessment is the starting point for teaching and learning and we have developed a detailed assessment package for schools with the emphasis placed on summative assessments being used for a formative purpose.

We have clear evidence of this approach impacting significantly on Key Stage 2 SATs outcomes since the new measure was launched in 2016. In addition, this approach to assessment can be applied to GCSE revision in Key Stage 4.
